PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Responsible in carrying out the day-to-day operations of SHEQ department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing technical support within the Logistics Business Division. Ensure compliance to all Safety and Health Environmental regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the Group SHEQ Manager with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective SHEQ policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the company objectives are met.
- Provide support to business in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety and environmental issues.
- Support the Group SHEQ Manager in ensuring SHEQ compliance at depots/terminal and on the road and perform regular SHEQ audits in the areas of business operations.
- Attend/address pre-route meetings as required on SHEQ related matters.
- Provide support on the implementation of Company-wide SHEQ initiatives e.g. ISO 9000, 14001, OHSAS 18001, etc.
- Assist with developing SHEQ plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as client requirements.
- Ensure training, tool box meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the company’s training and SHEQ program, i.e. emergency response systems, etc.
- Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned to the Country Manager & Group SHEQ Manager for promulgation to the management.
- Manage Safety Statistic reporting as well as tracking and providing regular SHEQ performance reporting.
- Conduct SHEQ trainings and orientation to all new employees & Visitors.
- Ensure all worksites are SHEQ compliant with Company policies and safety standards.
12. Assist in ad-hoc SHEQ tasks/projects as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Min Diploma/Degree in environmental studies, with specialization in QHSE or related discipline preferred.
- Possess certification in NEBOSH.
- Min 2 years relevant experience.
- Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHA 18001, 45001, ISM, ISPS standards and HSE management systems is highly preferred.
- Strong passion in HSSE.
- Good MS Office skills particularly in Excel, Words and Power point.
- Able to work independently and meticulous.
- Must be willing to travel at short notice.
